Emergency Youth Shelter

Boys at shelter bedThe Bridge Emergency Youth Shelter provides homeless young adults, ages 18 to 24, with shelter, food, clothing, meals, and safety, along with access to a wide range of support and services, all designed to help young people overcome difficult circumstances, become self-sufficient, and obtain transitional or permanent housing. Beds are available both on an emergency basis and for longer periods of time as a “contract bed” for youth who are actively working toward independence.

Emergency Beds

Beds are provided based on need and availability.

Requirements

  • You must be 18 to 24 years old to access the emergency shelter services.
  • A modified intake process may be held onsite in an emergency situation, with the full intake process completed the next morning.

Contract Beds

Beds are provided based on need and availability.

Requirements

  • You must be 18 to 24 years old to access the shelter services.
  • You must complete the intake process.
  • While waiting for placement in a contract bed, you must keep all counseling appointments.  

Intake Hours and Process

Intakes are offered on a drop-in basis Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at 47 West Street, Boston. Following an intake, you will be referred to meet with a shelter staff member.
