For many young people, a high school diploma is something they receive surrounded by classmates they have known for years. For the 26 members of Bridge’s Class of 2026, the journey looked different. Youth at Bridge often face challenges not only in finishing their schooling through traditional routes, but are also trying to do so while navigating difficult family dynamics, unstable living situations, and uncertain futures—sometimes without even knowing how they will get their next meal or where they will sleep for the night.

However, despite these challenges, our 26 graduates this year overcame adversity and earned their HiSET credential or completed their diplomas.  On June 22nd, we had the privilege of celebrating this remarkable achievement alongside the Bridge community, their families, and friends.

Once again this year, we held our graduation ceremony at Suffolk Law School, with the theme “Unstoppable” to celebrate the determination and perseverance of these young adults.

Longtime Bridge friend and supporter Carol Geremia spoke about how she has witnessed the unstoppable spirit of Bridge youth over the decades of her work with the organization. She encouraged them to “Avoid the negative narrative that it’s not possible, because it is. You all are pure proof of that.” Bridge President and CEO Elisabeth also spoke about their unstoppable determination in the face of challenges, and Associate Director of the Bridge Education Team Diana Saintil encouraged graduates to continue pursuing the futures they envision for themselves.

Attendees celebrated as graduates received their diplomas and heard an inspiring speech from class valedictorian Li, who reminded her fellow graduates that they were unstoppable “We are here because we decided to not give up on ourselves, because we decided to keep getting back up when life told us to stay down.”

The ceremony served as a powerful reminder of what is possible when young people are given the support, encouragement, and opportunities they deserve. We were grateful to be able to share it with family, friends, Board and Advisory Council members, and other partners.
