Bridge Over Troubled Waters Receives Grant from Boston Public Health Commission
September 30, 2024
Bridge is the recipient of a Boston Public Health Commission grant to prevent overdose deaths among young people experiencing or at risk for homelessness.
“This grant award from the Boston Public Health Commission will enable Bridge to implement a new recovery track to prevent opioid use among the city’s most vulnerable Black and Latinx young people who are runaway, homeless, and at high risk for opioid use and addiction,” said Bridge Director of Clinical Services Peter Ducharme. “Our targeted approach will expand evidence-based practices in Boston neighborhoods through overdose education, training, naloxone distribution, and linkages to care. Bridge is deeply grateful to the Commission and the City of Boston for this funding, which will provide essential help to our youth and improve, and indeed, save, lives.”
