Volunteer Engagement

Bridge’s volunteer partners provide critical support to Bridge youth and team members. We are deeply grateful for the time, talent, and generosity from groups that choose to give back.

Right now, the best way individuals and small groups can support Bridge is by volunteering on our Mobile Medical Van or by donating items for drives. You can read more about both below.

Volunteer on the Mobile Medical Van

Mobile Medical Van Volunteer

The Bridge Mobile Medical Van serves as a point of entry into the health care system for a population that normally avoids medical care. The medical volunteer is a current or retired doctor or nurse who intervenes, educates, and refers based on their unique knowledge base and skills. By providing a comfortable, friendly environment for the delivery of health care, you as a member of the van’s medical staff, encourage patients to also make use of other, more sophisticated medical services for evaluation and treatment.

The Mobile Medical Van goes out weekday evenings from 5pm to 8:30pm. Volunteers should be willing to serve at least once a month and they are required to provide a copy of their malpractice insurance.

Drives:

One way to give at Bridge is to donate the items our youth need! You can send these by mail or host a team-building event and have your group put together baskets that they can drop off. Unlike the above options, there is no required amount.  We are grateful for any number of donations from the drives below—thank you!

*Please note that the items linked below are the types of items we are looking for, but they do not need to be specifically purchased from Amazon – we have only linked these lists for your convenience, but if you’d rather go shopping yourself, that’s fine too! All items must be new. Donations accepted Monday-Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM.

Welcome Home Baskets

Provide youth moving into their own apartments through our Rapid Re-housing program with Welcome Home Baskets filled with supplies to help them cook, clean, and feel at home in their new space! Help them celebrate this big step by purchasing items like the ones on Bridge’s Amazon Welcome Home Wish List and packaging them up for delivery (youth love to have these items in mesh hampers – see them linked on the Wish List).

Seasonal Needs

Anyone who lives in New England knows that the weather can change on a dime! From sticky summers to freezing cold, adaptable clothing is a must. Use this Amazon Seasonal Wish List (updated accordingly) to ensure our youth have what they need all year round.

Baby Bundles

Our single-parent household allows us to provide a nurturing environment for young (and expectant) moms and their kids. Use our Amazon Baby Wish List to put together the perfect baby bundle and provide a young parent with everything needed to welcome a baby home.
