Bridge Over Troubled Waters Welcomes Amy Metet and Kate Bueker to Board of Directors

May 3, 2023

Bridge Over Troubled Waters (Bridge) is excited to announce the addition of Amy Metet and Kate Bueker to its Board of Directors.

Amy Metet, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at learning technology company, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (HMH), has over 20 years of experience in IT managing complex, cross-functional projects and programs. At HMH, she oversees enterprise technology solutions and infrastructure, including information security and company-wide software applications, partnering across the business to support HMH’s vision for the future. Before joining HMH, Amy worked at Charles River Laboratories and Boston Scientific, where she led the IT Sales, Marketing and Communications organizations.

As part of the Bridge Board of Directors, Amy will help guide the organization’s advancements in technology as it evolves to meet the needs of today’s youth.

“It takes courage to grow up and to know who you really are, and without guidance from a parent or a trusted caregiver, this is difficult to achieve as a runaway or homeless youth,” said Amy. “I’m happy and privileged to be able to give back by empowering youth-in-crisis to reach out for help and also get the help they need regardless of where they’re at.”

Kate Bueker is the Chief Financial Officer at HubSpot, where she manages the company’s finances, and is also the co-executive sponsor of the Women@HubSpot employee resource group. Prior to HubSpot, Kate spent eleven years in finance and business development leadership roles at Akamai Technologies, where she most recently served as senior vice president of business finance and operations. Kate also spent almost 10 years in investment banking at The Blackstone Group, UBS, Credit Suisse, and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.

As part of the Bridge Board of Directors, Kate joins the Finance Committee and will help guide the organization to impactful growth during its comprehensive fundraising campaign.

“Serving over 2,000 homeless, runaway, and at-risk youth annually, Bridge has an incredible impact on our community today,” said Bueker. “I’m grateful to join the Board at an important time and to use my background in helping organizations scale. I look forward to working with Amy and the rest of the Board to advocate for Bridge’s important mission so that they can continue to build better, more meaningful futures for youth across Boston.”

“Amy and Kate are committed to Bridge’s mission, to our youth, and to our goals. We are excited to have them join us and help guide Bridge’s work,” said Bridge President and CEO Elisabeth Jackson.
